"Recycle Wednesdays"

Curbside recycling is a convenient way for households to recycle several items by simply placing those recyclables on their curb once a month. The recyclables are then taken to the Recycling Center to be sorted.

In order for curbside recycling to be effective, residents should participate every month and follow the Recycle Right guidelines to ensure all items placed on the curb are recycled and not diverted to the landfill.

It’s easy to recycle curbside! Read the following steps and you’re well on your way to helping Chattanooga become friendlier to the environment. The first step is to determine your service area and the second step is to identify your pickup day.

Step One: Find Your Area

Curbside pickup has been divided into four new service areas to better serve Chattanooga and increase the effectiveness of our curbside recycling program. Each area has a number to allow for quick identification. There are four easy ways to find out which area you are in:

1. Directional identification:
   1. Area 1: east of Highway 153 and west of Interstate 75
   2. Area 2: east of Interstate 75, west of Highway 153 and east of Crest Road, Campbell Street and Bonny Oaks Drive
   3. Area 3: west of Crest Road, Campbell Street, and Bonny Oaks Drive, west of Highway 153 and south of the Tennessee River
   4. Area 4: north of the Tennessee River and west of Highway 153

3. Call 311: simply tell them your address and they will tell you your service area number.

Step Two: Pickup Days

Once you know your area number, it's very simple to identify your pickup day for curbside recycling.
